Pallet Volume & Volumetric Weight Calculator

Accurately plan your shipping loads. Calculate standard UK road freight chargeable weight and verify how much space your pallets will occupy in a standard 13.6m curtainside trailer.

Pallet Planner & Volume Calculator

Calculate freight volume, volumetric weight, and vehicle capacity requirements.

Standard UK sizing is 120cm x 100cm. Holds up to 1000kg normally.

Road ratio is 1 m³ = 333 kg. Standard for UK and European logistics.

Understanding Pallet Shipping Calculations

What is Volumetric Weight?

Volumetric (or dimensional) weight is a pricing calculation used by logistics companies to reflect the density of a package. A light but bulky shipment can occupy significant trailer space, so carriers calculate the space it takes and compare it to the actual gross physical weight.

How is Chargeable Weight Determined?

Your shipment is priced based on the higher of the two values: the gross physical weight or the calculated volumetric weight. For standard road freight in the UK and Europe, a cubic meter (m³) of volume is typically valued at 333 kilograms of weight.
